Hi! My name is Ren Chu! I'm a Peruvian-American comic book artist and 2D motion designer, with a passion for visual storytelling and risograph printing. During the pandemic, I gradually produced comics for commission and started creating my own stories to publish online. In 2023, I decided to switch from my motion design career to creating my own independent small business. 🎀
After a year of experimenting, Softy Time Studio was recently established this Fall! We love producing risograph-printed comics, zines, animations, and illustrations that have heartfelt themes, such as: emotional aspects in everyday experiences, defining identity as a first-generation American, and experiences with our inner-child. Plus we make stickers and have plans to diversify our catalog! We hope aim to make more cute and cozy works, while practicing sustainability.
